WCB&VI Launches New On-Line Store and Website

The Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired has launched a revamped, on-line store and two new information websites today.

Their main site at www.wcblind.org has been completely redesigned to make it easier to find information and to make on-line donations. It also has been designed to be accessible to visually impaired computer users. Besides information about the Council, its mission and its staff, the site also contains links and descriptions about a wide range of resources that are available for the blind and visually impaired.

In addition to the main site, the on-line version of the Sharper Vision Store (http://shop.wcblind.org) has been updated, with additional features and over 200 new products.

Now, both the Sharper Vision Store located in WCB&VI’s main offices at 754 Williamson Street and the on-line Sharper Vision Store have combined to bring a wide range of products and technology for the blind and visually impaired to shoppers not only in Madison, WI but also around the world.

Finally, WCB&VI is also pleased to announce the availability of the site at accessibleweb.wcblind.org. This site is a collection of tools for programmers who are writing web-sites to be compliant with Section 508 — the US Government’s requirement for accessible web sites.

All three of the sites are available and accessible now.

Questions about any of the sites can be directed to Betsy Gruba at the Council or sent to “administrator [at] wcblind.org.”
