The following list of links are a collection of  employment resources designed to assist the blind and visually impaired. The Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually impaired has worked with many of these agencies in the past but is unable to make additional recommendations or endorsements other than listing their contact information here.

If you are in need of Assistive Technology Services the Council offers comprehensive Assistive Technology Assessments which includes a full report and vendor listings, individual training on Assistive Technology: training can be done either at Council’s WCBVI offices or at the consumer’s workplace.

Employment

Department of Workforce Development (DWD) / Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Services from the DVR assist individuals in obtaining employment. Trained vocational counselors may provide services to the client in the home, but the client typically meets their counselor at the office. In addition to counseling and guidance, the rehabilitation counselor may assist with setting up training opportunities for the client. Assistance with job placement will be provided. Wiscraft, Inc. Wiscraft, Inc. provides skill training and sheltered employment for the blind. Services are intended to assist individuals in reaching their maximum work potential for either community employment or sheltered employment with the company. Business Enterprise Program The BEP is designed to assist blind individuals establish business opportunities.
