A GREAT POEM ABOUT COMPUTERS

The Blind Compuer User

You may always have been blind,
or just recently lost your sight.
You may fear this new darkness,
or know only eternal night.

If you are newly blind,
you may want to give up on the computer in vain.
However, everything is not lost,
for using only the keyboard is a gain.

Instead of the mouse, use the keyboard.
It may be tough, I know.
But with proper training,
you will keyboard fast, instead of slow.

Using the JAWS screen reader is really cool.
It is the best screen reader I have found.
The eloquence synthesizer sounds really neat,
although it has a sythetic sound.

If you use a magnifier,
or prefer window eyes,
or need the icons enlarged,
or made smaller in size,

Never fear, the computer can do all that
and even more.
It's amazing what you can learn
that they never taught you at the computer store.

So, lift your head up,
and be proud to say,
that I use a screen reader or magnifier
and use the computer all day.
