FREE WHITE CANE PROGRAM

If you are blind or visually impaired, you are entitled to one free white cane a year from the Council.  We supply a number of varieties of canes, so please specify your preference. You may request a support cane, which you would lean on as you walk; or an ID cane, which is a short one that you would hold out to let others know you have a vision problem; or a mobility cane, one that you tap as you walk—the use of this type of cane does require some training.  All canes are available rigid or folding, so they may be tucked away when you are not using them.

Call Ann at 800-783-5213 Ext. 211, or e-mail her if your vision is 20/70 or less and you have never had a white cane, or want to replace a cane that you have had for more than a year.
